Yes, for sure! Here are my main tips:

S i z e

The smaller a tattoo is, the more likely small loops in letters like “a, e, o” etc. are to close up with ink spread over the years. So, the larger you can go, the less likely your tattoo will blur over time. Touch ups over the years can really help to keep your tattoo looking its best, too.

P l a c e m e n t

High rub areas (such as the hands & feet) tend to fade tattoos quickly, whereas areas with lower rubbing (like forearms & shoulder blades) tend to help with tattoo longevity.

E x p o s u r e

Generally, tattoos last longer if the ink isn’t exposed to the sun. Sunscreen will definitely help over the years.

It’s so important to have a talented tattooist with a strong portfolio and a sanitary workspace ink your tattoo. The skill level of your tattoo artist can determine whether your tattoo will look like your final design, how small your tattoo can go, and the longevity of your tattoo.

F i n e l i n e

If your tattoo has thin, dainty lines, I’d highly recommend going with a tattoo artist who specializes in either single needle or fine line (3 needles or less) tattoos. Thin lines unfortunately don’t allow for mistakes, and a seasoned, talented tattoo artist who has the skill set with thin lines will be the best match for these types of designs.

I don’t make temporary tattoos - I’m sorry about that!

In most cases, my designs are custom-made for clients. Many of the listings in my shop include Photoshopped images of past designs to show how the tattoo could look in real life. While I won’t be able to resell designs that were custom-made for past clients, I would love to work with you on a design that has your own personal touch!

I completely understand if you might like to compare any of the Round 1 options with another style! Because of the time that goes into creating Round 1, all edits for Round 2 are based off of any of the original options shown in Round 1. If you’d like to see a new style, I’m happy to create it for an additional fee.

Due to copyright and respect for other artists, I can’t make an identical design of another person’s work. I can definitely make something with a similar feel, though!
